Vibrant colour and focus
After the launch of EEW Art with Friederike von Rauch, photographer Jessica Backhaus continued the photographic exploration of our corporate group. From December 2021 until January 2022, Backhaus took her camera to our plant sites in Stapelfeld and Premnitz and created a series of vibrantly coloured works focused on details. We purchased eight of these works, which we exhibit at our headquarters. As she searches for new forms of expression, Jessica Backhaus’s photography alternates between documentation and abstraction.
Documentation and staging
The artist explores everyday objects and situations, which she documents and sometimes stages in colourful photographs. With great precision and sensitivity, Backhaus perceives the world around her and approaches it in an immediate way: Light and colour as well as their painterly realisation are the artist’s most important means. With visual reflections and fragments, her motifs are situated between reality and abstraction. Recently, her free play with materials has also given rise to staged still lifes, collages and minimalist experiments with colour and light.
