From waste to resources:
EEW Energy from Waste

Safe waste treatment, climate-friendly energy supply, responsible behaviour

EEW Energy from Waste (EEW) is one of Europe's leading companies in the field of thermal waste and sewage sludge utilisation. At 17 sites, more than 1,450 dedicated employees ensure safe treatment, greater protection of the climate and resources, and a functioning circular economy. Every year, around five million tonnes of residual waste and sewage sludge are used to generate energy. The circular economy is growing in importance and increasingly includes the recovery of plastics. In this context, we have also adopted a new perspective on CO2. This gas is not only a climate pollutant, but also a raw material - for example, for the production of nitrogen fertilisers, carbon dioxide, e-fuels, methane, polymers or chemical base materials. And another perspective is important to us: sustainability is often associated with climate change, but it also refers to the conservation of resources, the development of innovative solutions, the optimisation of processes, as well as responsible and safety-conscious behaviour.
